Option 1

This option is for recovery work that will need to be carried out in a fully equipped laboratory. This is the only recommended option for any recovery involving the following scenarios:

- Hard Drive faults where

• the drive is no longer recognised by the BIOS or
• the drive does not spin up or
• the drive is making clicking or scraping noises

- Cracked or broken CD/DVD media

- Physically damaged memory cards or   USB memory devices

- Tape or cartridge media

Option 2

Use this option for media that is not physically damaged where the data has been lost by one of the following possible reasons:

• System crash causing data corruption
• Virus infection
• Accidental deletion
• Disk format (where no data has subsequently been writen back to the drive)
• Camera (or similar device) errors that have caused memory card corruption

or if you are unsure and would like confirmation/advice before committing to more expensive lab work.
